The links below contain R Shiny applications that provide standard and advanced statistical procedures for humanists, natural scientists, and social scientists who are increasingly using statistical models to analyze geospatial data, social networks, and textual corpora and evaluate hypotheses about the world. These applications will make powerful analyses in R available in a point-and-click application using R Shiny, removing the steep learning curve of a new programming language and making Colgate the place where data science is accessible to everyone. Visit shiny.rstudio.com to take a deeper dive into R Shiny.
We have worked with our students to develop applications that reflect the topics covered in the statistics curriculum at Colgate and the collaborative research we conduct as a collaboratory. We welcome your comments and feature requests as we solidify, expand, and sustain the cohort of experts within the collaboratory, and develop the next generation of data scientists.
If you are using these tools for a publication, please ensure that you understand the analyses and the resulting code. Just because the computations work, this does not necessarily mean the procedure is appropriate for your data. Further, not all analysis techniques are made available. If you need help conducting your analyses, please work with a data science collaboratory collaborator.
